For Juneteenth, Shutterstock is proud to support Black Women Photographers and Black Public Media in their efforts to create a more inclusive future for Black creatives and content creators. This Juneteenth initiative is an important part of our commitment to supporting artists from diverse backgrounds. To amplify the work of these incredible non-profits, Shutterstock has made a $10,000 donation to each. We are inviting employees to share our goal of advancing the meaningful missions of Black Women Photographers and Black Public Media. **Remember, Shutterstock matches up to $200 of donations per employee per year!

Black Public Media Inc

Funding, acquiring, and distributing educational, historical, and cultural media content about the experiences of African-Americans and people of the African Diaspora.

Black Women Photographers Foundation Inc

Established in July 2020 by Polly Irũngũ, Black Women Photographers (BWP) is a global community, directory, and hub of over 2,100 Black and African creatives, spanning over 60+ countries and 35+ U.S. states. The collective offers free educational resources such as regular programming of virtual and in-person events, webinars, workshops, trainings, conferences, meet ups, and exhibitions. BWP supports its members through an annual $50K grant fund, donating free equipment, providing free portfolio reviews, and promoting their work in an active database distributed to brands, photo editors, directors, curators, art buyers, and industry gatekeepers. BWP is dedicated to mentoring visual artists at all stages of development, with the aim to increase access to professional and paid opportunities.
