Help Filipinos Rebuild After Typhoons and Earthquake Fund
Typhoon Tino has left thousands of Filipino families displaced and in urgent need of assistance. As a company with a strong presence in the region, we have an opportunity to make a real difference. What Happened The Philippines was recently hit by two (2) strong typhoons Tino (Kalmaegi) and Uwan (Fung Wong) which struck Cebu and other parts of the Visayas region. The storm caused severe flooding, toppled infrastructure, and displaced thousands of families. Cebu province alone reported dozens of fatalities and widespread destruction, with entire communities submerged and homes washed away. Overall, more than 700,000 individuals have been affected, and recovery will take months. Impact: Over 700,000 people affected, thousands displaced. Damage: Homes submerged in floodwaters, roofs torn off, and widespread power outages. Families lost everything, including basic necessities and sources of income. Human toll: Victims faced life-threatening conditions, with some evacuating through windows to escape rising waters. Anxiety and trauma are high among affected communities. How Victims Are Affected Immediate needs: Food, clean water, hygiene kits, temporary shelter, and medical care. Long-term impact: Loss of homes, livelihoods, and access to education for children. Psychological strain: Families are coping with trauma and uncertainty about rebuilding their lives. St. Jude Heroes London 2026 Marathon Fund
In 2013, I ran my first marathon as a St. Jude Hero. In 2015, I did it again. Both times, I carried the names, the stories, and the strength of children fighting for their lives. And those experiences have never left me. Now, over a decade later, Iโ€™m preparing to run my 12th marathon โ€” the 2026 London Marathon โ€” and once again, Iโ€™ll be running as a St. Jude Hero. This isnโ€™t just another race for me. This is a full-circle moment: representing an organization that has profoundly shaped my running journey, on one of the worldโ€™s most iconic stages. St. Jude Childrenโ€™s Research Hospital is changing the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. And families never receive a bill โ€” not for treatment, travel, housing, or food โ€” because all a parent should worry about is helping their child live. Iโ€™ve set an ambitious goal: to raise $10,000 for the kids of St. Jude. Every mile I run โ€” every early training morning, every sore step โ€” is for them. Your donation, no matter the amount, becomes part of that journey. As one of my favorite quotes says: โ€œYou are truly your own hero in running. It is up to you to have the responsibility and self-discipline to get the job done.โ€ I'm ready to get the job done โ€” not just for myself, but for something bigger. Thank you for supporting me, for cheering me on, and for standing with St. Jude. With gratitude, Sarah

Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) has killed 114 people in the Philippines, is barrelling towards central Vietnam with increasing windspeeds. As it wreaked havoc through heavy rains and severe flooding, mainly in the Visayas region. Tino entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Nov. 2, intensifying into a Severe Tropical Storm and into a typhoon the next day. Early morning of Nov. 4, it made landfall at Silago, Southern Leyte, eventually moving to Borbon, Cebu, and Sagay, Negros Occidental. Life-threatening conditions continue to affect Cebu and Negros Island regions. Cebu City alone was deluged by 183 millimeters of rain, 24 hours before Tino's landfall, according to PAGASA. Entire towns in the province were submerged, with vehicles and shipping containers visibly stacked and swept away by floodwaters. The storm has flooded entire towns on Cebu, the region's most populous island, where 71 deaths were reported. Another 127 are missing and 82 injured, according to officials. Most of the deaths in the Philippines were due to drowning, reports said. The storm sent torrents of muddy water down hillsides and into towns and cities. Damage to Cebu's residential areas was extensive, with many small buildings swept away and a thick carpet of mud left by the retreating floodwaters. Local officials described the havoc wrought by the storm as "unprecedented". Residents returning to their destroyed homes are reeling from the deadly floods earlier this week.

Erasmus MC Sophia Children's Hospital The Erasmus MC Sophia Childrenโ€™s Hospital provides care for children with rare and complex disorders. The Sophia is part of the Erasmus Medical Centre and is affiliated with the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The hospital is the largest of the eight university medical centres in the Netherlands. The Erasmus MC Sophia Childrenโ€™s Hospital is founded more than 150 years ago, we offer the entire spectrum of specialisms in the field of pediatric medicine, surgery, and psychiatry. The knowledge of all the disciplines involved in Sophia Childrenโ€™s Hospital is bundled into four focus areas: The Pediatric Thoracic Centre, The Pediatric Brain Centre, The Centre for Rare Diseases and The Mother and Child Centre. Erasmus MC Sophia Foundation Children should not be sick, but unfortunately reality tells a different story. That is why the Erasmus MC Sophia Foundation is committed to funding scientific research to discover the causes of diseases and to improve treatment methods. The Foundation contributes to projects to enable innovations in healthcare, so that the Sophia retains a leading position as a childrenโ€™s hospital in Europe. At the Sophia, it is all about the patients. High quality and safety of care is paramount. The government and health insurers make an important contribution to the financing of medical treatments. However, additional resources are needed for optimal well-being of patients, research and new treatment methods, education, and relaxation. The Erasmus MC Sophia Foundation (in Dutch: Stichting Vrienden van het Sophia) is a fundraising foundation that raises money for the facilities mentioned above. Thanks to the many donations, the Erasmus MC Sophia Foundation can create facilities that fall outside the regular healthcare coverage. Such as projects that can take healthcare to an even higher level. And projects that make the stay of patients and their families in hospital as pleasant as possible. Such as furnishing family rooms, toys, and relaxation options. These facilities are of crucial importance for the well-being of the child and family during the sometimes-long periods of hospitalisation at the Sophia and during the recovery period afterwards. The support of donors, companies, funds and volunteers is indispensable. Together we can make a big difference in the lives of little ones! We are very grateful to our donors for their support.
